The project is an experimental expression of a view of life. The skull represents death, which also contains brain, through which we understand the world and ourselves. The X-ray represents my desire to explore the world. Therefore, the skull here is more like an unknown planet, which carries all human desire and emotions such as pain and passion. I combined elements of a history, philosophy, drama, etc, such as Shakespeare’s drama lines and moon landing video. These elements together constitute a world we are both familiar and unfamiliar with.
My style is deeply influenced by artist Nick Veasey, who uses X-ray photography to allow people to see the world in a new way. X-ray allows us to see through the appearance of an object and understand its interior, thus exploring things in deeper levels which are not commonly seen.
